I have a 48 port switch module, 4 switcports on this does not provide power to my IP phones. How would i determine if POE is the problem in my module?

To begin with, attach a phone known to work, directly to the suspect port using a patch cable.

There's no problem with the phones since when we attached it on a different switchport they aquired power on the switch.

What type of switch and IOS version?
There is a known bug in 3560/3750 switches with power being lost on phones. The fix w/o upgrading the IOS is to issue a 'shut'/'no shut' on the switchports.

it's a cat4500-ipbase9mz.122-31.SG.bin. Shut/no shut did not work.

No known bugs on that release regarding VoIP, it seems you are being affected by a hardware issue.

But is there a command to show that ff switchports are defective?
