IP SLA and Dual homed BGP

Hi,

At my I have core switch (for discussion consider one switch). There are two wan rotuers connected to core switch. One router is connected to SP 1 and other router to SP 2. Both these CE routers are running BGP with service provider and static routing towards LAN (core switch).

Now the core switch need to do ECMP using reliable static routing. I know a dynamic routing is the solution but I have reservations. We have decided to go for IP SLA based load balancing from core to WAN routers. The question here is if one of the Spoke location SP 1 link is down, the switch should not forward traffic for that LAN to the affected edge router ?

what is the possible option. Is it an iBGP between two routers ?

regards

Prasad K

Hi

you can use IP SLA and Tracked Static router.

IGP with redistribution from BGP and iBGP as well if you have sufficent routes in your bgp table.

Depends on the over all design and hardware.

GLBP with interface or enhanced object tracking is a good option.
