ip sla failure tuning

I want "ip sla" echo ping to fail three times before being considered a fail. Can anyone provide an example of this? I am running on a 3845 ISR with 124-9.T7 IOS. Thanks.

Re: ip sla failure tuning

Ideally, what we want is something similar in design to the use of ATM CC cells where connectivity is considered lost after non-receipt of 3 consecutive CC cells sent as 1 sec intervals, i.e. a failure is declared following a 3 second outage. To mirror this in IP what we need is for IP SLA to send an event to the EOT following the failure of 3 consecutive pings sent at 1 second intervals with 1 second timeouts. Alternatively, if the EOT poll interval is made user configurable then a user configurable EOT poll threshold could be added to specify how many consecutive polls must fail before connectivity is considered lost.
