Is "no auto-summary" command relevant if performed under "vrf"?

I noticed that when I do:

myrouter#show ip protocols vrf MYTEST

(...)

Routing Protocol is "bgp 1000"

(...)

IGRP synchronization is disabled

Automatic route summarization is disabled

(...)

Other protocols listed under such command (such as OSPF) did not show any visible difference to me regardless if I enter "no auto-summary" under the respective "vrf" or not.

That said, my conclusion is that bgp summarization is disabled because it inherited the setting from the "router bgp 1000", in which "no auto-summary" was entered.

Questions:

That means that it is irrelevant doing "no auto-summary" under the 'address-family ipv4 vrf' instance?

The way I see it, it appears that as long as do "no auto-summary" under the respective "router protocol <>" line, the "no auto-summary" under "vrf" is ignored, right?

I've checked on a PE node.

Even if the command no auto-summary is not present in the router bgp process it is disabled

Routing Protocol is "bgp XXXX"

Outgoing update filter list for all interfaces is not set

Incoming update filter list for all interfaces is not set

IGP synchronization is disabled

>>Automatic route summarization is disabled

Maximum path: 1

Routing Information Sources:

Gateway Distance Last Update

Distance: external 20 internal 200 local 200

Then we have explicit no auto-summary under each af vrf but you probably are right because now BGP defaults to this.
