is that possible to do password recovery without removeing the stack cable

hi

i have two stacked switch ( stacked ) 3750

i need to do password recovery

1- i switch off both switch

2- plug the console on slave switch

3- press mode button on slave switch ,,, the master switch boot normally

4- do the steps for password recovery including ( renaming the config.text )

but when i boot the switch

it did not bypass the the configuration ( it ask for password again )

my question is

is that possible to do password recovery without removing the stackcable ?

You need to remove the stacking cable or else the switch you're doing the password recovery will immediately join the stack master and copy the config.
