Is the Bandwidth Command Relevant

I have full T1's to my branch offices and originally the bandwidth on the router was set to various fract T1 speeds but I just changed them all to 1536 but there wasn't a noticeable diffence in performance. Is the Bandwidth command relevant and if it is what does it do.

The bandwidth command is relevant for routing protocols such as OSPF and EIGRP and Quality of service configurations.

OSPF and EIGRP will take the bandwidth into account when deciding on the cost of a link.

Hi,

remember that with EIGRP when you change the bandwidth, for example for equal load balancing over unequal physical links (without using the variance), you have to change also the delay.
