i try to look cisco site, and i don't see ios for isis on cat 3550; that 's means that cat 3550 can't operate isis protocol.
Please, somebody can confirm it .

ISIS is indeed not supported on the 3550. Check this link for unsupported global commands, and look for ' router isis':
