Hello,
What's the maximum of route entry capacity of the ISR G2(1941,2921,3925)?
I couldn't find any reference to the info..
It's depend on the memory..?
Is there any docs to this? links?

For OSPF the memory usage depends on the topology, type of routes and size of LSA's. Genernally speaking you can average 300-400 bytes per route (again this really depends on a number of factors. Worst case would be around 500 bytes, so 500*35,000 would be 17mb's.

Why do you worry? How many routes do you need ?

There are 3500 routes we need.
Our customer is asking for warrant of the stability proof.
Thanks.

The only limitation to the amount of routes is processor memory. Each route, depending on the routing protocol will consume x amount of processor memory until it is exhausted. To be completely honest, 3,500 routes is nothing compared to what a lot of other customers are doing
Which routing protocol are you planning on running?

hello tim,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm planning on OSPF on the each router.
Do you think it'll work without problems?

15 years ago, I was using 35,000 routes without any problem, on 2500 routers with 16 MB of memory.
3,500 for a router of today is really nothing, as Tim remarked above.
