Issue with GSR Blower

Hi All,

          We recently had an issue with a blower in our GSR with the voltage droping to -0.5.

To this end it is believed that the sensor is broken and advised to do "test mbus soft-reset-agent <slot-no>”

After the execution of this command the blower came back working normal BUT show hardware or version gives the folowing error message.

GSR# sh hardware   (Irrelevant command taken off)

WARNING: MBUS agent in slot 28 running from ROM
Contact your technical support representative.

Does anyone knows if this is a disaster laying ambush or it's a message that could be ignored?.

The possible workaround on cisco for this issue is

Workaround/Solution

Cisco recommends a forced download which will eliminate any potential timing issues or other problems that may arise with the code running in ROM.

To force download to an older card, type the following commands:

  • test mbus download (slot) unicast

  • upgrade mbus-agent-rom slot (slot)
