Lease line upgrading Justification

Hi!

I'm thinking of upgrading one of our existing lease line from 64kbps to 128kbps.

The management wanted data to support the upgrade. Any idea how can i justified this with data? or any free tools that i can use to get the data i want for this justification? I'm using 2950 routers here. Clients are accessing the SAP server through this lease line + printing of certain doc.

Any idea? Thks!

To justify this, you will need to analyze how much bandwidth of your existing link is being utilized by your users during busy hour (8am - 5pm). This may also be affected by any maintenance/backups being taken between the sites off hours. Either ways you need a some sort of assessment of the bandwidth utilized. You can use free tools such as MRTG to monitor bandwidth utilization.

Hi! Where can i get a full version of this MRTG software? I've searh through the internet on the installation and configuration. It seems to be very complicated. I'm not sure whether am i reading the correct info or not.

Can specific side that's more informative and easy to understand? Is this software windows based?

Is it targeting the router or a specific pc only?

Thks!

You can run it on windows, just that you need to install perl for windows to run the perl scripts for MRTG. HEre is link to MRTG.
