anyone , I am currently looking for any white papers, documentation or any informations that pertains to the current industry trends with regards to useful life cycle/depreciation of network infrastructures (e.g. routers, switches, telephony, etc.). This includes information about Cisco's EoL timelines (how long are devices usually in service before EOL; what is the timeline from EoL announcement to the actual end of support, etc..)...thanks!
Please search Cisco.com, there is such information. But may not cover all of your requirements. IMO, the trend may be driven by the market and the equipment itself can work a long period of time, it depends on what new feature is required but current platform cannot support, so new platform created and phase out old platform. Just my 2 cents.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
