LNS Hardware recommendation

Looking at the most scalable alternative for an LNS - We have looked at 7200's (Starting with NPE400, then potentially upgrading to NPE-G1 as required).

Would 7600's be a better alternative?(Or 6400's?)...Or is there a new Cisco product that replaces the above?

Regards,

Re: LNS Hardware recommendation

Hi

Cisco 7200 with NPE G1 will be a best bet for this requirement though 7600 with dual sups cant be overlooked or sometimes may appear a overkill if u dont have enough traffic feeds ...

About 6400 broadband aggregators as per cisco it has already reached EOS and EOL status and hope u can settle down between 7200 or 7600..

Do refer this link for the EOS/EOL notification on 6400..

Re: LNS Hardware recommendation

Hi,

you might also want to look at Cisco 7300 or Cisco 10000. Here is a link to a performance test.

Miercom Performance Testing for Broadband Aggregation

In the end it depends on your budget and the requirements you have. Nearly every Cisco router has L2TP capabilities.

Hope this helps
