loadbalancing with Ospf E2 routes

R1 has a loopback interface (1.1.1.1/32) which it is redistributing into  OSPF with metric-type E2... since metric doesnot change throughout the  network with type E2, RO should have two paths for 1.1.1.1/32 one  directly to R1 and other one through R3 since the metric is same.... but  this is not what happens and R0 has just one path to 1.1.1.1 which is  through R1 ..... can somebidy explain....

Not quite , because the router uses forward metric for

choosing the spf to the external route. The forward metric is the cost to reach the ASBR.

The forward metric of the R0 to the ASBR , is less to R1 than the forward metric throught R3.

verify ( R0 , R1 and R3 are in the same area )

show ip ospf data exter 1.1.1.1 <- who is advertising the external route

show ip ospf dat router <- metric to reach the next-hop to the ASBR
