I setup my router to log to a server using the command 'logging 10.87.183.20'. Where is that log located once it is on the server?

On the Syslog server you have defined a default directory for all log files. You can modify the directory on the syslog server to be any directory you want. It will be a .log file...If you do not know the directory, you can do a search on the drive.

Hello,
If the Syslog Server your logging to has a GUI or other management functionality you should be able to find the default logging directory.

What will the name of the file be? Or what format will the name be in?

Hi,
It depends on your syslog server. For a lot of *nix-based servers, the file will appear by default in /var/log with a filename of 'syslog'
Hope that helps - pls rate the post if it does.
