Looking For A Replacement Router

GREGORY JACKSON

I am trying to find a replacement for my home Wetstell Router provided by Verizon. I am having issues with this router as it has to be physically power cycled every 5 to 5 hours. The model of router is A90-9100EM15-10 it has 4 10/100 LAN ethernet ports, 1 WAN ethernet and 1 coaxil WAN. Does Cisco have a comparable router with the coaxil connector? I have replace the Westell with 3 other Westell routers only to have the same results. this is not my first tiem with the Verizon routers I had teh same issue in my old house but because the router was on my desk I would just turn it off and turn it back on. In my new location the router is in the demarc in the closet upstairs so makes it a bit of a pain to have to cycle power but I digress. Any suggestions would be great. I was thinking that the 800 or 1800 series routers would have something close.

thanks,

r

Hello Gregory,

you are describing an 800 series router.

Only one question do you mean a cable modem interface as the WAN interface ?

in this case you should look at 1800 series with cable HWIC module

see

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/prod/collateral/modules/ps3129/ps6943/product_data_sheet0900aecd804b4478_ps5853_Products_Data_Sheet.html

But it requires a 1841 or better

there is another router family called UBR900 that may be is out of sale now.

UBR904 and so on.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
