many input errors !!!!

Hello,

We have seen many input errors.

We have swapped the router, the card, coaxial cable, also has made an upgrade of the IOS.

The local provider has changed the Fiber Converter.
All tests made logical loop results in a converter problem but physical loops made by the supplier certifies that the circuit is OK

Re: many input errors !!!!

Who is the DTE? Why is that inactive?

Try the sh controllers interface command and you will see the real state of the connection

Remember to take out your policy to connect the cable and to apply your policies again. sometimes it gets stuck for this.

Hi,

Can you please clear the interface  and then reduce the size of MTU and test it.

many input errors !!!!

Hi Sandeep,

The input errors also occurs when there is only traffic management by the circuit. I understand that this should not be the problem, I'll change the MTU settings. :-)

Thanks

You should never change ot reduce MTU settings.

many input errors !!!!

Dear All,

Should I change the MTU in the PE?

CE:

#show int Serial1/0
Serial1/0 is up, line protocol is up
  Hardware is DSXPNM Serial

  MTU 1500 bytes, BW 34000 Kbit/sec, DLY 200 usec,

PE:

#show interface Serial4/0/1

Serial4/0/1 is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is C10K E3/T3 Eight Port (E3 Mode)

MTU 4470 bytes, BW 34000 Kbit, DLY 200 usec,

many input errors !!!!

Hello Antonio,

the MTU has to be the same at the two ends of the link:

or you set the MTU to 4470 bytes on CE or you set the MTU to 1500 bytes on PE node.

Your giant errors are caused by this MTU mismatch

Hope to help

Giuseppe
