My problem is I have loopbacks on R1 and want to give MED 70 on R2 and R3 30 .....so that all routers outside R100,R200 etc etc... choose R3 to reach R1 loopbacks !!!!!!!!

But this is not working

I have attched config with this message in ZIP file

Hi Anand,

Remember that the metric or the 'MED' comes into play way down in the BGP path selection process - if there is a tie breaker before that, your MED value will never be considered.

From R2, R3 and any router behind it (say R100), can you post the output of show ip bgp please?

Regards,

Aninda

Thanks for reply just did it actually I didnt connect both R100 and R200 with one BGP so it was not delivering MED values

I mean when R2 give MED to R100 and R3 give to R200 ...how come R100 knows which MED values R200 has in table so that I used IBGP and now all fine as expected

Thnaks,
