Hi

You can check out the memory being installed in the router using show version command.

About the flash & PCMCIA disk you can verify the same using show disk0: or disk1: based on the slot you have installed the same.

You can also make use of show flash command too to verify the same..

is there any computation to get the exact memory capacity?

thanks,

hi

no their is no exact calculation

u have to increase the memory as u add fuctions

their is a memory calculator with cisco site ( but that is avaliable for cisco partener login )

in genral for all routers

32mb is enough

if u are using full BGP in internet senario then u reqiure 64mb at least

if u r using voip(one e1) on to of that go for 128mb

for 2/3 e1 u have to go to 256 mb

all are hit and trial

i hope u get good over veiw

plz rate this if u like

Hi

If you are interested in certain IOS feature other than the normal IP Base flavor then you need to check out the required memory to have the new IOS code in your box.
