Good Day! If you do a ping to an IP address, your workstation sends ICMP packets (echo). If the workstation at the other end is alive, it sends back an ICMP reply. Once the reply packet is received, the workstation checks the time when it has sent and received the packet (round trip time). This is done at least 5 times when doing a single ping. Here is were these values are taken. Given the rount trip times, the minimum, average and maximum round trip time is displayed. The lower the value, the better.
