## min/avg/max=172/184/220

Hi Experts!

when i ping an IP Address,i receive some thing Like this:Round Trip min/avg/max=172/184/220 ms.i have to know more about this Value;and how we calcule these Value;and what is the best ping Value(min/avg/max)

Hi!

Good Day! If you do a ping to an IP address, your workstation sends ICMP packets (echo). If the workstation at the other end is alive, it sends back an ICMP reply. Once the reply packet is received, the workstation checks the time when it has sent and received the packet (round trip time). This is done at least 5 times when doing a single ping. Here is were these values are taken. Given the rount trip times, the minimum, average and maximum round trip time is displayed. The lower the value, the better.

I don't think it is necessary because the results you are getting are the actual results already.
