Hello All,

I am deploying Routers 2811 and would like to have something like a modem connected to USB, Console, or AUX port with an analog line to access the router in the case all the wan links are out.

Can you give me a clue on how to do that?

Many thanks

Hi,

I believe that this is what you're looking for.

Hello,

The previous message was right, but uses the aux port connected to a serial port modem.

Does any one now if we can use an USB modem connected to the USB port of the router?

Now, it is hard to find serial port modems.

Thanks

Hi,

The USB ports on the current routers are for mounting file systems only. I don't know if there is a roadmap to add additional functionality to the USB port, but I'd doubt it.

USRobotics and Multitech (and many others) still make RS232 based analogue modems.

I hope Cisco don't mind these links, but I don't think they make external analogue modems!
