We have a router plugged into port 22 on our Cisco Catalyst 3550 switch it's version is c3550-ipservices-mz.122-40.SE.bin.

We don't have access to the router, but do to the switch, how can I monitot the traffic through this port? I'd like to know IP address, ports destinations etc?

Hi Andy,

You can configure SPAN on your switch which needs a source port and destination port. Source por will be por which you want to monitor or potr whose traffic you want to capture and it is port 22 in your case.

Destination port you have to connect a machine with sniffer installed something like Wireshark where you can see all traffic passing through port 22.

THis link will give you more details about SPAN and how to confgure on your switch
