MPLS P routers

Just want to verify two things about MPLS:

1. MPLS P (core) routers only require only "mpls ip" enabled under interface config. IP CEF is also required ? There is NO other special MPLS config required on P routers ?

2. Under bgp process "address-family ipv4 vrf {name}" is required for each vrf no matter which routing protocol is used b/w PE & CE?

3. Is there a bgp redistribution required b/w "bgp VPNv4" and "address-family ipv4 vrf {name}" when BGP is used for routing b/w PE & CE? I guess NOT??

4. I have seen some configs where multiple VRFs were defined on CE routers. How does PE-CE connection works in this case? Which device pops the label?

1. That is correct. Note that 'mpls ip' will only enable LDP and you need more config if you want to do RSVP-TE. But for basic operation, that is sufficient. You do need to enable CEF.

2. Correct.

3. Correct, you don't.

4. This feature is called VRFLite or Multi-VRF. It simply allows multiple routing tables on CE routers and has nothing to do with MPLS.

Paresh.
