Multicast RP's in different AS across an MPLS WAN

Hi all, It appears Multicast redundancy is a little more challenging than expected.

If the primary rendezvous point (RP) is configured on the CE of a CE-PE BGP peering MPLS cloud,

can the redundant RP be located across the MPLS cloud in a different AS on the CE of the same MPLS cloud.

(all customer prefixes are known at every point in the WAN)?

[RP(CE)_AS100]-----PE__MPLS_(AS200)__cloud__PE------[CE(RP)_AS300]
