Multicast storm control

A server administrator is complaining that his server is receiving excessive multicast traffic, the server is currently connected to a WS-C2950G-48-EI Version 12.1(13)EA1. Is there any way of restricting multicast traffic received on the interface the server is connected to?

Hello,

on the port where the server is connected to, you can configure the command:

storm-control multicast level

in order to restrict the amount of multicast traffic on that port. A level of 0 limits all multicast traffic.
