Multiple NAT AND PAT

Hi

If you have only 1 public address can you NAT and PAT to 2 servers/PC's on the same port or do you need more public addresses.

For example to FTP servers on the LAN with a single IP address on the outside.

Re: Multiple NAT AND PAT

Hi Richard,

You meant that 1 public ip address can be used for 2 private ip addresses with the same port. Right?

If that's what you asked for. It's hard for the router to know what's exactly ip address to do PAT functions when the traffics from the outside are going to go to the inside.

Actually the router will not allow you to that though. So you need to have another one public ip address to beat this requirement.

Hopes this helps
