nat gre tunnel

I had what I thought was a brilliant idea but it doesn't work and I would like to know why

router 1

int 0

ip nat outside

int 1

ip nat inside

int tunnel1

source int 1

destination  r2 int 1

router 2

int 0

ip nat outside

int 1

ip nat inside

tunnel 1

source int 1

destination r1 int 1

the issue is if traffic is directed through the tunnel from r1 to r2 and out r2 int 0  the nat is lost.  Is there a way to make it nat when coming through the tunnel.

yes apply the nat out side on the tunnel interface not the physical outbound interface

not sure exactly what the NAT setup is but the logic to have the traffic going through the gre tunnel nated you need to apply the nat out side on the tunnel interface

i am assuming you have the routing configured to route the traffic for the nated IPs over the tunnel on both sides !

hope this help
