NAT-PT in 7606

Hi Everybody,

I am trying to configure NAT-PT in 7609 Router with SUP720-MSFC3 Card. IOS is 12.2.

But I am not able to see "ipv6 nat" interface command. I am neither seeing "no ipv6 nd suppress" interface command. I enabled "ipv6 unicast" & "ipv6 cef" in the Router too.

I found that NAT-PT command is supported in 12.4 Version. But for 7606 SUP720 MSFC32, I am donot find 12.4 IOS

Can you please suggest me the suitable solution. Thanks in advance

Hello R.B. Kumar,

I've verified using feature navigator and searching for feature NAT-PT

www.cisco.com/go/fn

no 12.2S* is listed among IOS versions and C7600 is not listed among the possible platforms.

The reason for this is that IPV4 NAT is performed in hardware with SUP720.

Probably sup720 doesn't support NAT PT.

You should think of moving the NAT PT function to an external device like 7206 VXR with NPE-G2 or C7301.

Thankyou very much. You will definitely take your suggestion of moving MAT-PT functionality to edge Router.

But unfortunately this is my Edge Router. I am not able to configure ISATAP also, as "no ipv6 nd suppress" command is also missing in the interface.

I am suprised what to do. I have idea going with IPV6IP only. Am i right
