NAT Redundancy

I have a scenarion where HSRP is configured on my devices. There is a " Redundancy HSRP <Group number>" command given on the Static NATs configured.

Ex: ip nat outside source static x.60.2.20 x.27.13.202 redundancy HSRP17

Now, as per my understanding when there is a failover happening in this scenario, the NAT translations would already be mirrored onto the Backup device. So there is no time delay in populating the NAT Tables. And the Active router replies to the ARP query with the BIA MAC address.

But how are ARP queries processed if there is no redundancy HSRP command configured, how does the switch know how to forward the ARP quesries from the LAN. Does the Active router reply with the BIA address or the virtual Address.

Please explain how the communication happens in both the scenarios?

Appreciate your response.
