need redundancy between two sites

Hi

Please see attached diagrams and configs.I have 100M lan extension betweeb two sites,if this lan extension is down THE TWO SITES loose connectivit.I am trying to acgive redundancy here with 20M Lan extension as backup line so that we have redundancy between two sites.Please tell me the easy WAY of achiveing this redundancy with staticc routes

An IGP would be easier but since that is not an option, I would use IPSLA. This example changes the route to the internet, but it would work for a remote site just as well.

Configure EIGRP (see link). Since the links are far apart bandwidth wise, traffic should flow over the 100MB link. If not you can use the delay option on the backup link to ensure traffic only flows over the 100MB link. You can also setup variance in EIGRP to do unequal load balancing across both the circuits. Please don't cross post into multiple forums as this just confuses things.

Agree with Collin, an IGP such as EIGRP/OSPF would be the better solution as this requires minimal configuration compared to using IP SLA.

You could look into floating static routes but as it is an ethernet LAN extension as Collin notes you may well need IP SLA.
