If you can troubleshoot the device without it rebooting then take a look at the memory. Do a show process memory and see if it has enough memory to function. If memory is not the issue then look at the logs of the router to see if anything is showing up. If still stuck then open a TAC case with Cisco , possibly the router is bad and you need a new unit....Good Luck..Please rate...

What is the history of this router? Did you recently make changes, like a new IOS, for example? That software forced reload error makes me wonder if you do not have enough DRAM to run the IOS currently loaded in it. I know you said you tried different software, but wondering if you reloaded software several times and the latest ones require more DRAM than is in the router.

Is the router a 2600XM or just a 2600? And what about the IOS is that the 2600XM or the 2600?

As the other two stated, try and downgrade to an IP only IOS and see if that works.

I just downloaded a new IOS which is almost the same as the IOS that was running in the router. I did this because I thought that the current IOS was somehow corrupt. And this is the fist time I am loading any other software on it, Some one again told me about something to do about DRAM. But I dont think there should be anything.

Hi

(1)Is this output comming after completion of booting process or initially?(If possible pls port the complete boot process output)

(2)(This step is not recommended for novoices...you may end up in trouble.)Try removing the flash and see the router goes into ROMMON?

(3)Are you able to enable break-sequence(CTRL-Break) and the router boots to ROMMON?Then try bypassing the config. and see what happens?

Regards

JD

mark what was the pre-software and to what you upgraded. try to check memory error. some times bootstart programes gives error.
