NetBEUI and dial-up networking question

Hi there, can you clarify this:

I am not sure whether the answer below is correct:

"Which of the following routed protocols

can be used in dial-up networking?"

a)TCP/IP

b)NETBeui

c)OSPF

d)IPX/SPX

e)IGRP

For me, a) and d) are correct. As far as I know, NetBeui cannot be routed.

The book states that b)NetBeui is also

correct.

Is the book answer wrong on this ?

Re: NetBEUI and dial-up networking question

You are (at least partially) correct; NETBEUI/NETBIOS cannot be routed (there is no "Network Address" field).

What they *might* be implying is that Microsoft uses NETBEUI over TCP/IP, so can DLSW+ .... so it's "sort of" a routed protocol.

If that's not their intent, then it's just wrong.

Where'd the question come from? If it's a book, check the publisher's web site for an errata sheet.

Good Luck
