Network Design Question

I recently purchased an 1841 modular router and need to connect three different networks. One network is the internet, the second network is a remote location, the third network is the local LAN. These are three different subnets and are handed off via RJ45 connections. The 1841 only has two integrated LAN ports. Will I be able to connect these networks together without buying additional cards? If I have to use an additional switch or router I can do that too. Thank you for your help.

Re: Network Design Question

Possible,

FE A - use for Internet

FE B - connect to a switch & trunk both ends.

Create 2 VLANs. 1 for Remote office & 1 for Local office.

Create 2 subinterfaces & assign the IPs of the Local lan & Remote office respectively.

( These will be the WAN & Gateway for LAN respectivily )

You can also Enable Cisco IOS Firewall functionality for security

HTH - Pls rate if it helps.

Re: Network Design Question

Thank you for the reply. Can you tell me if a Catalyst 2950 will be able to provide this functionality?

Re: Network Design Question

I forgot to ask if the subinterfaces and VLANS are supposed to be created on the 1841 or 2950. Thank you again for your response.
