Network segmentation using BGP communities or policy based routing - URGENT!!!!!
Please reveiew the attached topology. I am integrating the sites in red into my existing AVPN network. However, after bringing them up on the AVPN
I need to keep their traffic separate from all my existing sites until a later date. The sites in red have their own centralized Internet link through the site with the thick red line. Their web presecne will come in thru the internet, cross the AVPN to their Data center and then back out their own internet.
My existing network also has a centralized internet. My headend router advertises the all 0's network via BGP.
Because we are all on the same AVPN and essentially 1 big group, my provider will have to implement policy based routing or BGP communities to facilitate this segmentation.
Does anyone have any experience with this. Please provide detailed information on how to implement this solution.
This is actually a pretty cool feature, i didn't even know it existed until I was looking for a solution to advertise a subnet (prefix in BGP talk), only if a certain condition existed. This is exactly what conditional advertisements does
