Dear Experts,

This time i approach you all for below querry.

1) What exactly is BOGON Routes/Networks ?

As per general info with me. This is a process where we introduce a routing (BGP) or ACL on our network to make our network safe with spamming/virus/hacking attempts. The IP pools/network which are used in this process are not registered with or alloted to any user by IANA/ARIN/APNIC.

Will be thankfull if anyone from you clear the pupose and working on BOGON in detail.

We want to configure the Bogon Routes with BGP config in our network. Requesting to kindly share the latest working BGP BOGON config (If anyone running in their network).

Bogon stands for Bogus Network.

An external attacker spoofs your internal addres space in order to gain acces to your network or to launch DDoS attacks.

For more details on why you should filter bogons see http://www.team-cymru.org/Services/Bogons/

They also have an example config for bogan tracking via BGP http://www.team-cymru.org/Services/Bogons/bgp.html
