HI,
I am trying to simply add a port on the N2148 to a VLAN. Once I added it the interface is still showing inactive.
Is there anything else I need to do?

Have you created the VLAN using the 'vlan X' command? If not then please do this on the 5K and the port should revert to ACTIVE.

It ended up being I needed to connfigure the other 5K FEX port as well and it came active.

Your original post did not mention you were running FEX in Active/Active configuration. Anyways, as of now manual configuration synchronization is required between the two N5Ks for FEX in Active/Active.
