Hello,

I installed NM-18DM in the Cisco 3640. The customer told me that sometimes the remote users can't connecte to the site, so the administrator must reboot the router to resolve the problem.

Another problem, there? is no server log to analyse what happened.

I would ask you to tell me how i can troubleshoot this problem? And how to know if i must upgrade the firmware of the modem?

Many thanks

what version IOS is running on the 3640?

please use the bugTool kit from the following link to search for any related bugs:

http://www.cisco.com/cgi-bin/Support/Bugtool/launch_bugtool.pl

(requires CCO login)

also, for logging router operation & trouble logs, use a syslog server or for troubleshooting, turn on router logging as described in the link below:

http://www.ciscotaccc.com/kaidara-advisor/core/showcase?case=K90552812

NOTE: if you intend to enable logging for a long duration and for alot of information, you should consider setting up a SYSLOG server as discussed in the link below.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/tech/tk648/tk362/tk790/tsd_technology_support_sub-protocol_home.html

(there are many freeWare syslog servers, just search the net for 'syslog server' without the quotes)
