i have a port adapter nm-1a-oc3-pom with a sfp-oc3-mm i need sm sfp. May i use a 1000base-lx sfp instead ?

Hi,
You can not use the 1000 base-lx sfp on this module.
Following are the supported SFPs -
SFP-OC3-MM
SFP-OC3-IR1
SFP-OC3-LR1
From this compatibility doc - http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/interfaces_modules/transceiver_modules/compatibility/matrix/OL_6980.html
If you want the sfp to support a higher distance then look at IR (15km) or LR (40km) SFPs mentioned above.

Hello Pierre,
as explained by Sushil you need specific SFP, because a 1000 base lx is designed for gigabit ethernet so they use different line codes and modulations techniques.
