The command

"no ip mroute-cache"

is added by default on my router config.

What does it do exactly?

Regards

It disables fast switching of multicast packet on the interface on the Cisco router. Check

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6441/products_command_reference_chapter09186a00804a8989.html#wp1073851

If you are not routing multicast packets (which is also the default) , it is insignificant.

Hi,

generally "mroute" refers to IP multicast.

So it basically does deactivate fast-switching for multicast traffic.

Have a look at

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/sw/iosswrel/ps5187/products_command_reference_chapter09186a008017cf23.html#wp1073851

Hope this helps

Martin
