No switchport allowed on cisco 7609

hi Guys,

I am trying to do a "no switchport" on cisco 7609 router but it keeps rejecting the command.

lab01(config-if)#no switchport
Command rejected: not allowed on this interface.

Interface config -

sh run int te2/0/1
Building configuration...

Current configuration : 81 bytes
!
interface TenGigabitEthernet2/0/1
 switchport
 shutdown
 no mls qos trust
end

This was a routed port before but during troubleshooting I configured it to switchport and now I can't seem to take that off

Any help?

thanks guys for you replies.

There is cisco bug CSCsk22554 related to this issue.

I reloaded the router which fixed it as recommended by cisco TAC

should have tried default interface first!

thanks
