Hello Mark,

the answer is no

I did a test on a C3825

on int g0/0 there is the media-type command with options rj45 or sfp

on int gi0/1 there is the media-type command only with option rj45

router(config)#int gi0/1

router(config-if)#med

router1(config-if)#media-type ?

  rj45  Use RJ45 connector

router(config-if)#int gi0/0

router1(config-if)#med

router1(config-if)#media-type ?

  rj45  Use RJ45 connector

  sfp   Use SFP connector

this means the SFP is linked to g0/0 and that you can use one SFP and one RJ45 port at the same time

Hope to help

Giuseppe

I am replacing a router with 3 lan interfaces and going to a router with 2 lan interfaces. My problem is that I need to keep all three networks separate.

I was thinking about using subinterfaces and then on the switches creating a trunk port and using private vlans to keep the traffic separated between the three networks.

What do you think?
