OSPF and Multiple Area 4s hanging off Area 0

Good Day,

Can you have multiple Area4s hanging off a single contiguous Area0?

Area4-----Area0------Area4

Each Area4/Area0 ABR will be advertising a different subnet into Area0.

All areas still connect to Area0 so I think it should work; but I am trying to confirm this.

Thanks very much for your help.

This is perfectly acceptable to have a partitioned non-backbone area. OSPF spec only forbids the partioning of the backbone area.

Hope this helps,
