OSPF Design Question

There are two data centers at opposite side of the coast. A spoke router near Data Center 1 has two WAN links and connect to each ABRs at Data Center 1.

For redundancy purpose, a third WAN link is installed and connected to Data Center 2.

My question is, how would you design your area so that if Data Center 1 fails, a spoke router will fail over to Data Center 2? Group all 3 links into one Area or Group 2 links to one Area and the third link to its own area?

Thanks for your help!

Thanks.

Hi Kevin,

Group the 2 Wan links connects DC1 to the same Area.

The 3rd link would be in seperate area.

You dont need the 3 links to be in one area since the 3rd wan link used as backup.

HTH
