"You cannot specify an interface name in OSPF. When used for OSPF, this feature applies only to external routes."

Edison makes a good point about specifying an interface name in OSPF distribute list. I would like to go a bit deeper about the use of distribute list in OSPF. Unlike routing protocols like EIGRP or RIP which do advertise routes, OSPF advertises LSAs. Since a distribute list filters advertisement of routes it is not effective in filtering of LSAs and can not assigned outbound on an interface.

also....

The command distribute-list out works only on the routes being redistributed by the Autonomous System Boundary

Routers (ASBRs) into OSPF. It can be applied to external type 2 and external type 1 routes, but not to intra-area

and interarea routes.
