OSPF Routing

have two path to reach R2 ospf neighborship is up and working find. I had a problem with the connectivity between R1&R2 for Path A hence the routing got converged and used Path B to reach R2 but when the R1 and R2 connectivity issue got resolved it did not switch back to Path A .

R1--------R2 (path A)

R1------R3----R2 (path B)

Any clue what would have happened

OSPF Routing

Hi Mani ,

Did you or any colegue changed the cost between R1 and R2 ? Did the adjacency when to Full  between R1 and R2 ?Also you can check the database for prefiexs generated by R2 in order to see if they are also received via direct link.

OSPF Routing

Thanks Dan it helps, the interface had a ospf cose set, so the path had lower opsf cost than the directly connected path.  hence path B was installed in the routing table.
