OSPF stub / nssa question

Hi

When I configure an area as a stub it works just as I would expect, ie I get type 3 and 4 LSA's and also a default route. But if I configure an area as an nssa I only get type 3 /4 LSA's, I dont see either type 5,s or a default route. To get a default route I have to configure the area as a totally stubby nssa but then I lose all the interarea routes.

Re: OSPF stub / nssa question

dont worry found it

To inject a default route into an NSSA area, use the default-information originate keyword in the area nssa command.

Re: OSPF stub / nssa question

Hi,

Type 5 LSAs are blocked in Stub, NSSA and totally Stub Areas. Thats the normal behaviour of OSPF.

As far as default route is concerned, it is carried in Type 3 LSAs in NSSA.

Hope it helps.

Regards
