can some explain why when a circuit randomly bounces, the circuit comes back, but OSPF does not return. It takes a manual bounce to restore OSPF..
Thanks

Hello Octorbust,
may you provide more details on the scenario?
What kind of circuit are you meaning?
How do you simulate faults and restores?
Are you using real devices or dynamips?
Hope to help

Hi Giuseppe
I have T1 circuit going from point A to Z.. the serial interface bounces up/down..So when its up/up the ospf adj is not there . so what I do is shut /no shut and voila we have ospf..the question is why when we have up/up ospf still not forming and requires the interface to be shut / no shut
Thanks
Hope this helps

Hello Octorbust,
try to use
debug ip ospf adj
and sh ip ospf int serx/y
to see if OSPF tries to start the neighbor state machine on the serial interface
Hope to help
Giuseppe
