Output drops

Hi,

I have an Frame relay link point to point,and currently experimentes Output Drops.

Serial0/0/0:0 is up, line protocol is up

Hardware is GT96K Serial

Description: *** Data Link to AVON KASTRIN ***

MTU 1500 bytes, BW 1536 Kbit, DLY 20000 usec,

reliability 255/255, txload 21/255, rxload 9/255

Encapsulation FRAME-RELAY IETF, loopback not set

Keepalive set (10 sec)

CRC checking enabled

LMI enq sent 9912, LMI stat recvd 9912, LMI upd recvd 0, DTE LMI up

LMI enq recvd 0, LMI stat sent 0, LMI upd sent 0

LMI DLCI 0 LMI type is ANSI Annex D frame relay DTE segmentation inactive

FR SVC disabled, LAPF state down

Broadcast queue 0/64, broadcasts sent/dropped 12287/0, interface broadcasts 10635

Last input 00:00:00, output 00:00:03, output hang never

Last clearing of "show interface" counters 1d03h

Input queue: 0/1000/0/0 (size/max/drops/flushes); Total output drops: 8523748

Queueing strategy: fifo

how can I eliminate this Output drops?

can anybody help me?

Roland,

That is a difficult one to answer (as well as complicated).

What types of traffic are you sending through the ptp? Are you sending VoIP? Do you have any QoS config on the router? If you do have QoS and you are prioritizing VoIP traffic properly then you are probably dropping data packets and not voice so it may be something you shouldn't have to worry about too much.

You are rigth, we use voice in other subinterface with Queueing strategy: weighted fair, but at the end is the same fiscal interface,

So is probably dropping data packets and not voice!

The only way for you to know that it's data being dropped instead of VoIP packets is to take a look at your QoS out.

Since you use VoIP, I would recommend that you use CBQWF with LLQ for your voice class instead of WFQ.
