ping packet loss

I got several packet loss when I try to ping a loopback interface (both external & internal loopback) with repeat count = 10000 & packet size = 100. Could anyone tell me why?

Router model: cisco 12410

IOS version: 12.0(26)S5

Sorry for my typo, it is a loopbacked POS interface, but not loopback interface.
