Pix 515e and nat

hi all,

i posted elsewhere in the forums, but needed to get an answer quickly. i apologize for the cross post.

I recently deleted one of my nat statements because i needed to change the address the inside was being natted to. well i removed the old and added a new. i see it in the running config. but when i ping from the outside world, the old address still answers and the new one does not. am i missing something?!

TIA,

R

Re: Pix 515e and nat

clear your arp cache for starters and try again!

the mac may be responding but the arp cache is showing the old IP addy.

Re: Pix 515e and nat

try "clear xlate"

"After you make any changes to translation rules on the PIX it is strongly encouraged that the clear xlate command be issued. This ensures that any old translations do not interfere with newly configured ones and cause them to operate incorrectly."

Please rate this post if this helps
