Dear All,

I have tow PIX 535 boxes (Primary and Failover) and both of them configured as Active/Standby fashion and yesterday I have upgraded the primary BOX from 6.3 to 7.2.1, but I need to clarify some issue

1st is the 7 OS support failover design

2nd Can I use the Failover Box as primary one and run 7 OS

3rd what is the procedures to move the failover Box to primary one.

Thanks in advance

Best Regards,

Re: PIX 535 upgrade from 6.3 to 7.2.1 OS

1. In addition to failover, 7.0 supports statefull failover.

2. As long as you have proper memory, then both boxes should be able to run 7.0. Once upgraded and configured, either one can be used as primary, your choice.

3. For failover to work, both devices have to be running the same image. This is how to configure both failover kinds on an ASA, but if you are using 7.0 code on a pix, it should be about the same:

Hope this helps.
